Railfanning RW's former Lehigh Valley/Reading lines around East Penn Junction, PA today produced some good train variety! The junction sits on RW's Philadelphia-Binghamton main line, and sees 14-18 trains per day... First through was northbound J-PHBN, an ethanol empty from Philadelphia to BNSF at Chicago... The power includes RW SD60M #6207, RW SD70M #6452 (former NYSW 4054), plus one unit each from RW's wholly-owned subsidiaries- W&LE SD40-2 #3034, INRD SD40-2 #42, and IAIS GP38-2 #718, each bound for Chicago where they will return to their home roads... Next through was train M-DCMO (manifest from the NS connection at Washington DC to CP at Montreal) behind RW ES44DCU #5377, NS C40-9W #8901, and CP SD40-2 #5651... Following this train was autorack train ML-489, running from Reading, PA to Detroit, behind Retro Rocket CW44ACU #4425, nearly new SD70DCU #6506, and dead-in-tow GP38-2 #7637... Last of the four was intermodal TV-43, headed for DeWitt from Philadelphia... The power includes CW44DCU #5240 and SD60M #6218... >>MC
