Hello y'all.
I have downloaded both the 710 Sound set and the ES44 sound set from this fourm, when I go to change the the sound, I first change the 2 lines, int, and ext to the required sms, I then copy the sms file from the soundset and put it in the sound file of the loco.
Now I go to drive the loco, it starts to load and then the error message comes up and it says failed to find/open ....sms. Now what am I doing wrong, do I have to change the path to the comon snd floder where the sound set in installed to.
Any help would be kindly appreicated.

You don't need to move sms files from MC sound folder.just open the read file copy & paste the desired sound you want.
example... CSX SD50 sounds
Insert this command in the external sounds line in the ENG file--
Sound ( "..\\..\\MC.SND\\MC_EMD710\\CSXSD50_eng.sms" )
Insert this command in the internal sounds line in the ENG file--
Sound ( "..\\..\\MC.SND\\MC_EMD710\\CSXSD50_cab.sms" )

Kevraff,
so what you are saying is you don't need to copy the sms files to the engine folder, just open the readme with the sound line and copy/paste.
Do you have to change anything else.

DON'T.....copy any of the sms files to your loco sound folder just edit your eng.file.....Sound lines with what you want out of the read me file. just follow the example in my last reply
