Barry a while back there was a thread on TS Com showing a PW super set in progress, did it ever get released as i have been looking for it, it has taken on a new meaning for me as i have now found a prototypical application for the units 2 plus 2 slugs on the Bridge line, got a new book the other day about coal and railroading in the USA and it seems that during the winters of 2005 and 2006 P&W ran a set of coal trains from Providence RI to the AES Corporations Westover Generating station in johnson city New York State. the caption in the book reads
" During the winter of 2005 - 2006 P&W teamed up with the New england central, the Vermont railway system and the canadian pacific tp move 40,000 tons of Indonesian coal from the port of providence rhode island, to AES Corporations Westover Generating station in johnson city New York, the four railroads provided an alternative routing to Norfolk Southern which normally handles coal deliveries to Westover, on january 20th 2006 P&W B39-8 nos 3906 leads a loaded train at Delason new york on the canadian pacific.
it shows 3906 plus 2 slugs and another unit, i decided to recreate it but as per the topic cannot find the set of engines, found the dash 8s but not the slugs, the only way it could have got there taking into account the other railways involved is by coming onto the bridge line via the canadian main line and then run the entire length of the route. using the other railways lines to avoid going on the panam railways line to Mechanicville,in a bit of a great circle around panAms route.
any news ion the set? as i may just have failed to find it.
