Started out waiting at Rawl, while I was there, NS 578 came out of the yard. The conductor leaned out of the window and told me that the special was at Matewan, about 5 miles away. About 10 minutes later, NS 953 rounds the curve towards the crossing, these F's look so much better in person. He stayed in Williamson yard for about an hour an a half, so I used that time to grab a bite to eat and set up for my next shot. This didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to, so I photoshopped it into Black & White: As soon as the units got by, I hopped in the car and drove off to Nolan, to set up my next shot with the church in the background. Once on US 52, with a crossing and a tunnel to deal with, I knew I'd only have 1 more shot of him. So I set up this one, not in my original planned spot because another railfan had the wide spot on the other side of the road. As the train went by, I got a wave from Mr. Moorman and a couple of others aboard the Buena Vista.
