I finally got my MSTS back running and downloaded the LSR&C. It's a great route with great scenery and many switching industries. I started out with a BNSF SD40-2 & GP38-2 and 30 mixed cars. Pulled into the LaSalle farmers Co-op to drop off my front grain car. Then into the ADM plant, a few miles down the line, to drop off 6 grain hoppers. Pulling out from ADM. Crossing the Mississippi River Crossing the BNSF mainline

I only wonder why no one uses the great engines from the route package itself, but maybe it's just me. Nice shots anyways! The route is pretty awesome non-the-less.

Now that I'm on my own forum I can finally say this!
Why do those ballast and tie textures look so clean? Real track isn't anything close to that clean!

I noticed that when I first used the route. It's still a great route though!

IMHO, Scale-rail is missing something, tie plates I think, and is much too uniform in appearance to be convincing. Just my 2 cents! The route looks terrific anyway!

We should stop complaining about the track, and talk more about how highly detailed this route is, and how long it took to build.
I know ScaleRail has its faults and all, but some people prefer it over default MSTS tracks, and yeah it has some shape to it like normal rail.

But still, is there a way to replace those textures with something less clean? >>MC

This is the best you could do, without relaying the whole entire routes rails. Just added textures of the dark gray ballast, just a test but the reason its light clean ballast, well you can see, it matches the texture around the rails.

This is home. My Grandfather is from Troy Grove. I live near Rockford on the CNW and 500 Yards froim the IC Iowa Div. The ONLY complaint on the route is what seems "Selective compression" to me. Lasalle, Mendota, and Rockford are alot further than 35 miles apart. ;-) I love the route anyhow!! Nice screens!

Ace, the route is rather fictional, so thats what makes me think that the 35 miles range, was done instead. As for the scale-rail, it does has tie plates.

I kinda figured it was, although the activity where you take your cars to the IC&E at Davis Jct. Looks ALOT like the Illinois Railnet?ICE consists from the Transload facility in So. Beloit, now in Rockford. I LOVE it!! I am curious...are the creators from around here?

Beloit, now in Rockford. I LOVE it!! I am curious...are the creators from around here? I have lived in Peru, IL my whole life (I'm only 17). This route was inspired by that area, but in no way was meant to be accurate representation of that area. This was the first route that I have ever done, so I was still (and still am) trying to perfect my methods of laying the track ballast on the terrain with Mosaic. I think I have a pretty good method developed now, and this will by applied to my next route. forums.flightsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?t=279373
